Create an MSX cassette player?

I got some cassette games I have been wanting to try out, but don't an msx recorder. Is there any way to make from from a normal cassette recorder, or a very common commodore one?

Any cassette player will do just fine. The only advantage of a 'real' MSX datarecorder is the automatic start/stop...

The Start/Stop is also functional on some 'generic' cassette players, but there are several good player from the producers of the MSX Microcomputers ...

I still need the MSX cables!

You can also "dump" those cassetes to .wav, burn them into a cd-player and use the cd instead of the tapes
Or even run the .wav files on emulators!

MSX Cassette players are easy to get on ebay or any other second hand site...
Indeed you need the cable for MSX, and most of the time making a cable costs as much as buying a complete 2nd hand player
