Strange.. VG8230 has "MSX2" logo, while the VG-8240 has only "MSX"

It’s probably not from a computer, note how ESC and BS buttons are written in Japanese. No Personal Computer in Japan had that, but word processors did this all the time.

Nothing about those machines was allowed to be published or shown in those days, think of Sony, but they are computers allright.

Well there is a distinction between “computers” and “personal computers”. The word processors were obviously also computers, but very focused in purpose. I suspect the keyboard where those keys came from were also from “computers” with a very focused audience .
