So I have created a list of current software creators and sellers, much like the one we have for hardware already. It's just a start. Feel free to edit, or post your comments over here.

Good idea.

I've added the Repro Factory games, but the problem with this site (and the others) is that the availability of games is very variable and the list will be difficult to keep up to date.

It's a detail, but you capitalized "Creators" but not "Sellers" in the page title. ^^

About software creators, there is already a wiki.

https://www.msx.org/wiki/Category:Groups/Persons

About hardware makers and sellers, they should be indicated on the pages concerning the material in question. So making a list doesn't add much.

I was unsure if I would list out all the games of particular shops. Because, yeah, that's kind of the problem, isn't it? Not only for the games a particular shop is selling. But also for creators publishing their own games. They may be gone with the wind one day. Fortunately, this is a Wiki, so hopefully someone will correct this.

I disagree. The persons list also includes creators from the past. The new list focuses on currently available products. It's targeted towards occasional MSX users. Maybe even users from the past, who have no idea that the community still puts out new games. If they stumble on this list, they might get exploring. And of course for all of us, who always have that feeling that they might have missed a release of one or something. Same goes for the hardware list.

I think you're cool! Find yourself in the list!

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. It is difficult to know which developer is still active or not. Those who know this information can add it to the existing list. No need to make an additional list that won't change the problem.

And in the "creators and sellers" title, the word "current" is missing from your description. Moreover, there are sellers who are not creators. That's to say how meaningless this new list is. Scattering the data makes the wiki less readable.

Arguably the best way to go about making a distinction between active vs non-active is to add a category Active Groups/Persons (complementary to Groups/Persons)?

Nothing wrong with a new list that serves a specific new/unique purpose. Though within that list I would link to the relevant internal (person/group) page (which houses further details on the subject).

Note that there are these relevant pages as well (and maybe some others):
* /wiki/Buying,_Selling_and_Trading
* /wiki/Category:Hardware_Makers_and_sellers (I reckon these are a 'Person/Group' as well?)

(On a side note: just me & no harsh criticism, but I'm not sure, for a number of reasons, about using a (sub)category as the main article for a subject; I'd rather see it organized in the standard MediaWiki way where the category refers to / links to the main article for that category (by the means of a template) (e.g. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Konami). I reckon most persons/groups cover a single page anyway? + I think it's nicer and arguably semantically more correct to have/see/read a page (article) called 'Imanok' instead of 'Category:Imanok'. But probably you decided upon structuring content this particular way somewhere in the past already :))
