The eleventh entry in the Game Music Cover Challenge is something special: the first entry that actually uses real MSX soundchips! Gryzor 87 surprises us with a cover of the opening sequence of Konami's Nemesis 2. The good part: the cover is made on a combination of SCC and PSG!
Originally this track started out as a showcase of the excellent Trilo Tracker. The recent release of version 0.7.2 contains advanced new features such as wave morphing, something Gryzor 87's entry takes advantage of. If you pay attention, you will notice how some sounds turn into another gradually.
Apart from the wave morphing feature the track also adds some nice extra flourishes to the song to make it stand out. And since it uses the same sound hardware as the original, you'd wish that Konami used this version in the game in stead.
Only a few more days until the deadline, so if you want to join in the challenge you have until the end of the month!
