On home computer systems, and even on today's Personal Computer systems, there's this group of freaks that make up "the scene". A rather huge group of enthusiastic bit pushers, sound biters and pixel plotters creating synergy of what seems to be just random output. And they call it "a demo". This demo scene was especially happening in the mid nineties for MSX computers. Don't be fooled, the scene is still out there. Underground, making noise.
The demo scene is just for showing off, letting the world meet your skills. And there's demo parties to even get your end product rated and scored, with prices to be won. Not only for the fame, but sure for the Fanta. These parties are everywhere, just check out Scene.org and Demoparty.net to get in the know.
At this year's Easter weekend, the annual Revision party took place in Saarbrücken, Germany. From March 30th to April 2nd many sceners strutted their stuff in various competitions. And, MSX was present too! Ranked at the 7th position in the "old skool demo" part with 607 point, the group Digital Sounds System presented their MSX2 demo called "In Stereo". Download "In Stereo" from Scene.org and run it on any plain old MSX2 system with at least 64KB of Random Access Memory, or watch it on YouTube.
Well done, Digital Sounds System!
