SofaROM - version 1.1 released | MSX Resource Center

SofaROM is an MSX tool designed to launch MSX MegaROM images without the need for a flash device.

Just now, SofaROM version 1.1 has been released and can be downloaded from Louthrax's MSX game room.

It features:

No (or hardly noticeable) slowdowns due to MegaROM emulation.
Works on any MSX-DOS 2 (or compatible) MSX machine with enough RAM (minimum 256KB, 512KB is recommended). Also works on memory mappers with no read-back capability.
Support for ASCII 8KB, ASCII 16KB, Konami and Konami SCC ROMs.
Uses NYYRIKKI's A.I. code to prevent patch-corruptions.
Support for external SCC cartridge to enable SCC sounds.
Compatibility with SofaRun's JoyMega patches.

A list of "working" (at least starting and looking OK) games with required launch parameters is available here.

SofaRun 2.8 has been updated and now uses SofaROM as a default MegaROM launcher when you have no flash device ("small" ROMs are still launched internally by SofaRun).

Seems like admins have mistaken SofaRun and SofaROM when adapting this introducing sentence:

"SofaRun is an MSX tool designed to run disk (.DSK), cassette (.CAS) and cartridge (.ROM) images. Various settings can be set and stored for each game. It can also be used to launch normal MSX-DOS 2 and BASIC programs."

That's SofaROM here, not SofaRun. SofaROM only launches ROM images, but is used by SofaRun.

OK, I admit the names are a bit similar and mistaking
