With only a few more days to go before the Thirty Years MSX Event takes place, we like to take this moment to update you with the final details.

The schedule

Doors open on November 23rd at 17:00 with the TYME pre-party where you not only can enjoy some interesting MSX specific demonstrations and presentations but also can catch up with other MSX friends for some nice nostalgic chitchat.

After the pre-party the main event will start. Amongst the main features are unique MSX music and VJ performances with a very special MSX theme, an MSX quiz and lots of opportunities to enjoy some (alcoholic) beverages and snacks while catching up and reliving nostalgic memories of what 30 years of MSX mean to you. The main event will last at least until 23:00 but might also last quite a bit longer.

The location

The Thirty Years MSX Event will take place in the Dokzaal in Amsterdam, a location in the city center and easily reached from Amsterdam Central Station. You can go to the venue with tram 9 (direction Diemen) and get out at the Plantage Kerklaan stop and take a 3 minute walk. Or if the weather allows you can go on foot from Central Station for a nice 20 minute walk through the city center.

If you go by car, we recommend you park your car in the outskirts of Amsterdam on one of the many P+R parking lots, where they will provide you with a free public transport card for the city center.

Entrance

The entrance to the party is totally free of charge. The only requirement is that you let us know you are coming, because we would like to know how many people to expect beforehand. At the moment, over 50 people have registered for the event. Because of the preparations we have to take, we have decided to set the registration deadline on Friday November 22 2013 23:59 CET.

So, if you haven't registered yet but want to join the fun, you only have a few days left to register. Also if you have something you'd like to show during the TYME pre-party please let us know in your registration or with our contact form.

Don't miss out! And don't be late at the event itself, the fun starts early!

Food and drinks

There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as snacks available in the venue for a small fee. Please bring some cash money, as there's no possibility for electronic payment.

For people that'd like to eat more than a few snacks there's the option to buy something more filling at the Dokzaal, again for a small fee.

Summary

Let's sum it all up for you:

  • What: Thirty Years MSX Event
  • Where: Dokhuis Galerie, Plantage Doklaan 8-12, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • When: Saturday, November 23rd 2013, from 17:00 till late
  • Entrance: Free of charge, but please RSVP

So, what's the recommended/closest P+R? From the ArenA one there is about 23 minutes travelling time.

That one and Zeeburg are probably closest. Personally, I prefer Sloterdijk.

23 minutes? Then you might as well put your car at ndsm warf for free, take the ferry to cs for free and walk to the venue...for free.

I think it's a lot long to walk and go by ferry with that route, isn't it?

Put your car at PR Tranfsferium Amsterdam Arena and take Metro 54 towards Central Station. Get off at Waterlooplein and walk from there. It'll cost you 8 euro for 5 people max. That's quick and cheap.

Just at a regular canvas printing service, nothing special. (the printing, that is, not the artwork Tongue)

Mind you, this great artwork was created by Julian van Aalderen (poke -1,170). So all praise goes to him!

Due to quite a few last minute registrations, we have extended the registration deadline to friday November 22th. So if you still hesitated, you have a bit more time to join the party in stead of missing out on what promises to be a great event.

Note that when we drove into the ArenA P+R, we found out that it was closed! That caused bit of a fuss. Tongue

Nice to point out that Oscar and Paco, our Spanish visitors, were live streaming the performances during the event, and dozens of people in Spain enjoyed the show from abroad!

For those who can't wait, West Side Trio on TYME their interpretation of SD Snatcher. Not bad, not bad at all I'd say. \o/

The others performances are in the album as well! (A bit of a pity it's SD quality only?) (maybe HD will follow?)

All great performances, and I certainly digged the MG - Theme of Tara interpretation!

(Btw; did WST add the jazzy bits 'n pieces & part themselves, or is that based on an already existing interpretation/version of the theme?)

That's fucking awesome! Wink

(Maybe we could persuade them to make HD/hi-res recordings, put it on BD.. + throw in visuals from Zanne.. I'll buy! Wink)

Edit: I just read this in an older TYME post, reaction from _wolf:

Quote:

Oh, rest assured: I intend to make/mix a studio-version as well.

Great!

It's only now I find this. Yes, I was there, with Wammes and RWL. The ramdisk was my creation indeed. I think I've misplaces my backups long time ago, but I do have some old disks that I haven't looked at for 30 years. I wonder whether they can be read with an USB floppy. I should look into that.. Wink
