The SX-1 Mini+ is a cost reduced MSX FPGA compatible 100% with the MSX2+ standard. It features VGA/RGB output, stereo audio output, PS/2 keyboard input, 2 DB9 joystick ports, SD card slot and 2 cartridge slots. The unit has a small form factor, about 100x100 mm, and it comes in a 3D printed case.
Internally, the SX-1 Mini+ also features SCC+ sound, FM sound, 2 or 4 Mb RAM mapper, and turbo mode (5,37mhz/8,06mhz). The external cartridge caddy allows the use of any MSX compatible cartridges. Each slot can be also configured as internal MegaSCC+.
You can connect almost any PS/2 keyboard and MSX compatible joysticks (DB9). The unit also includes a SD slot that can be used as mass storage device through BASIC or MSXDOS command line.

I see with pleasure in the photo that the pull-up resistors are correctly sized at 1K. Great !! LOL!

Looks good and a very nice price Smile
What does the 3D printed enclosure look like? And what is the quality of the sound-output?

I was about to ask regarding the OCM-based fixes, but I see KdL already spotted them on the board. That is good news and makes it an even more attractive product! I wonder if the fixes have also been implemented in any of the new "regular" Zemmix Neo batches from 8bits4ever?

Yes, we have included the fixes you published on twiter (1K Pull ups on WAIT and INT)

We are working on the case right now. Pictures will follow. Sound output should be the same as in the Zemmix or the regular SX-1 ITX.

We perform the fix mods on the Zemmix only by request. We cannot modify the PCB itself because we do not have the sources to do so. The new SX-1 Mini+ has the latest fixes by KdL

Awesome !!
I want one...

Is it possible to show the "normal" MSX2+ startup logo instead of the SX1 logo ?

It is possible if you load the BIOS from the SD

Nice. Are there any functional differences between the regular SX-1 and the SX-1 mini+?

The mini+ only misses the scanlines generator and the composite video jack (you can get composite from an internal header if you really need it).

Will it be possible to switch between 3.58 and 8,06mhz while the machine is running? Like you can on a 7.14MHz machine?

Edit: NM:
F12: Changes CPU speed between
3.58MHz, 5.37MHz and 8.06MHz

Yes, you can switch frequency on the fly.

Mine arrived today, this is a nice little MSX! I think it's replacing the 8bits4ever Zemmix Neo as my usual MSX now due to the convenient size and good compatibility Smile

But... Zero experience with FPGA MSX... How do I load my own MSX2+ Rom during boot ?
Is there a description about the features of the PFGA MSX ?

You can use mglocm in autoexec.bat to load a (mega)ROM image from the microSD card and start it, maybe this works for your purposes? Not entirely clear what you are hoping to do, though - if this is instead a desire to use a different main/disk/kanji/FM ROM set there is a toolchain from kdl (OCM-SDBIOS) that allows this to be loaded from microSD with a special filename provided it's the very first entry in the directory

Can't that just be done with the available KDL firmware?

You can do that either by flashing different firmware or by using OCM-SDBIOS
