According to the Dutch newssite nu.nl, who showed us some MSXPLAYer pictures in their newspost about 40 years of BASIC last week, now tells us Tulip computers announces a Commodore 64 gameconsole. The MSX clearly isn't the only 8-bit homecomputer with a commercial revival.

The Commodore 64 console, which is actually a joystick you can connect to a TV, has about 30 famous C64 game classics like Summer games, Winter games and World games build in. The price of this C64 joystick, which is going to be released the second half of 2004, will be about 30 euro. You can find more information on the device on this pressrelease.

Well, Tulip is surely not being very original here. Remember the Atari 10 in 1 joystick? :). The only difference is that Tulip dare to call it a 'console'.

The concept is indeed highly unoriginal. Tons of 'consoles' like that already exist for ages. Just drop by the Mediamarkt and it has two of 'em already.

Hmmm... That TellSell thingy jumps in my mind... You know, that monochrome GameBoy kit that could be plugged onto a TV set, so you could play 60+ games (like Contra, but much poorer and clearly a remake!) for a mere €100,-! Incredible!!! Wink

Say what you want...

Who would not buy such an MSX thinggie? I would get one for sure!

This is more "revival" than a magazine or a USB device! A REAL THING and WORKING!

Rest assured, the MSX Magazines, Game Reader and MSXPLAYer are real and work too, but I get your drift. Such a joystick with several Konami classics on it? MUST HAVE!

Remember the C64 'revival' thread in the forum? Also quite UN-original since MSX is in a revival as well and even before Tulip came up with the idea to do one for the C64 as well. And the MSX-Revival is much more 'open' than the C64 one since we can use logo's pretty much freely as long as the site has no illegal material.
