After previewing the game at 39th RU in Barcelona, where visitors played the final version of the game, the time has come for us to announce the official launch party date. The party will be held at the Azzurro Rock Pub in Bilbao, Telesforo Aranzadi, 3, on 22th June (20h GMT+1).

Azzurro 8-Bit Jam is a mix between puzzle and dexterity games, with the intention to catch the attention of the casual gamer, no matter his or her age. It will be running permanently inside a custom double-monitor cabinet, where clients will be able to play and enjoy the game while having a good time inside the pub.

Apart from playing on the game cabinet, a limited ZX Spectrum 48KB/128KB cassette edition will be sold, including its jewel box, cover, instruction manual, with the Matra Computer Automations high quality standards. You can acquire the cassette limited edition visiting Rock Pub Azzurro only and getting it there.

For now, there won't be downloads for the game. In some months, and into Retro Euskal, that will be held into the Euskal Encounter party, it is planned to share the game with the visitors. Further on, it will be distributed for free at Azzurro Rock Pub website, both the MSX and the Spectrum versions.

If you are near Bilbao, or you are planning to visit the Basque Country, you can't miss visiting Rock Pub Azzurro where, along with good music, you will be able to enjoy the first 8-bit advergame professionally developed since years!

And quite a cool idea to have a launch party. A launch party for an 8bit computer game in this day and age, who would have expected that 10 years ago?

To clarify things a bit. Azzurro 8-Bit Jam has been made originally on MSX, in order to run inside a cabinet for clients to play for free in the pub (so the MSX version is the "arcade" or "original" version), and a Spectrum conversion (the "home" version) has been created for it to be distributed on tape at the pub. You can check our weblog or any 39 BCN RU information out there, where we presented the final MSX version of the game.
