From time to time we are used to receiving nice gifts from Imanok and now it won't be different. We are pleased to announce that the full version of Tina's Adventure Island is already available for downloading on his website.

Don't forget that Tina's Adventure Island is still available in physical format through MSX Cartridge Shop.

I already purchased the cartridge, but thank you for the free version too, Imanok! Now I can also play it on emulators.

Yep, thanks a lot! Looks like a well made game. Perhaps you can once make an MSX2 version with enhanced sprites?

Don't forget that, on MSX2 or higher, you can toggle the colour palette at the title screen with F1.

Thank you all! I hope you enjoy the game Wink

@Manuel: That would require a lot of work (including dynamic sprite redefinition) and switching to megarom format. Not willing to do that at all... better focusing on new stuff Tongue

Sweet, thanks!
I guess it's no problem to mention it, but I was once told some stuff had to go because: no room. I believe a world map, and there was limited space for the music as well.

So theoretically an unabridged version might perhaps be doable (not sure if the world map actually was coded/created already), but certainly understandable if the creator wants to move on ;-)

Looking forward to your future stuff Imanok (and Hassink, and RC743)!

You're welcome! Wink

@ren: there was the intention to add a world map, but the idea was discarded because of the available space in the rom, as you well say. Anyway it was just an idea... No code nor GFX were made actually.

@imanok: just played the game live on stream (Twitch), since it was picked in the challenge! Great game, took me some hours to finish it, but a fun challenging game, which I enjoyed a very much.

Yesterday I was interviewed for a podcast and my daughter was asked for her favorite MSX game. She said "Traffic" but as we was on our way home, she said she meant Tina, but didn't remember the name. Well, two Imanok games!

Did someone manage to run this with SofaRun or a similar loader? Tried both on a Zemmix (Internal Mapper) and a Panasonic FS-A1 (SD-Mapper), but all I get is the error message "no suitable device found". I tried changing the device settings on SofaRun (Load on MegaRAM, for example), without success. Execrom also didn't work.

The game runs fine on BlueMSX and WebMSX, so I know the ROM is good.

Congrats to Imanok, it is a REALLY GOOD game.

@rigues Thank you! Wink

I don't know if there's a way to load 64Kb (without mapper) roms with a Zemmix, OCM or similar without a flashrom cartridge.

Maybe there's anybody who could help on that?

It worked for me with SofaRom:
srom TAI.ROM /R9
The /R9 is important to choose the right mapper (Linear).
