What is this 'encoding' thing you speak of?
^_^
(hides)
You not understanding encoding was what caused the issue in the first place
So... today we did a small update of the website again. Apart from the usual security and bugfix updates, we also solved the issue where the frontpage Spotlight and other Javascripts sometimes stopped working.
As a side effect of this we also made some changes that should increase the site's performance a (tiny) bit. To make all this happen, I had to rewrite quite a lot of things in quite a few places. If you see anything that used to work before but stopped working, leave your comments here. Same goes for the layout: if you see the layout broke somewhere, let us know.
Thanks in advance
dunno if you fixed this, or that the updated software on my symbian-not-so-smart-phone fixed it.
But i can now post messages again.
Good to hear The fix was prolly a combination of both.
And again smileys dont work... then they work again... next day they stop working again...
Yes, this 3rd party smileys module is broken and I have been too lazy to fix it yet. I'll look into it later.
Hey there, so far everything has been smooth sailing for me, except for one major issue: I cannot see what I'm typing in textboxes! My system font is white but I'm guessing it was assumed the system color would be black (since for most people, it is). Can you please force the CSS for text boxes and fields to black?
Also, where do I subscribe to threads or get email notifications that there are replies in a thread I've posted in?
Apologies if either of these have already been answered.

Nice find! As I can imagine this is very annoying, I did a quick fix for this. You should have black text now. If not, please clear your cache and report back here if it still doesn't work.

There is no such functionality in our forum. It's an interesting addition tho, so let me investigate if it's worth adding.
Thank you! I do indeed have black text in the "post a new comment" box, though the wiki still exhibits the same issue, can you also fix it there?
Thanks for looking into the subscription thing, it would help me quite a bit if I knew when to come back and check on things, also it would give me a reminder to visit the forum. =]
