All right, I've added those new directives (.defb, .defw, .defm, .dm, .defa, .ds) and updated the manual to reflect the changes.

Here are some other changes I made in the past two days, in case you're interested:

  • Scrolling tab bar to hold more files
  • Smooth UI transitions (modeled after Google Chrome tab animations)
  • Ctrl+S to save (still trying to decide on other keyboard controls)
  • Full-screen mode (F11)
  • Warnings on closing tabs with unsaved changes

We're also working on French translations; so far the controls have been translated, and the log console and manual are next. Other languages are also on the list provided we find suitable translators Wink

As you can see, it's still quite an active project—feel free to offer suggestions!

have you ever seen this online assembler http://msx.jannone.org/bit/ ?

One of the most interesting features is the computation of the timings on z80 in general and on msx (where there is an odd extra wait state for each memory access). Look under "clock/size"

Here is an online assembler for Z80 / 8080 / 6502 / 6809, together with CPU debugger and some emulators. (Some description here)

I prefer http://clrhome.org because Jannone.org does not accept certain characters in the texts of DEFB.

Wow, after coding assembly for years, that's the first time I have heard of this. So isn't that basically after every opcode because the CPU needs to fetch it from memory? (are we talking M Cycles or T STates here BTW?)

Hey Sandy! Is there still something of Ablaze you can release after all these years?

Wow!
I am truly astonished that you remember that!! Smile

I have been dusting off some old of the old tools and code, but it is all a question about if I'll ever find enough time to do something with it again.

Perhaps you can release a kind of preview? The stuff you showed on MSX fairs in the end? Smile
