@ Grauw: You can ofcourse influence the volume of a played tone software-wise with each 'tic' or (tracker) step, but the sound itself is 'cast in stone'. Smile
In TT-FM, instrument macros have no effect on the FM tone and are ignored.

@ hit9918: The fastest (cycle-wise) way to do that is with each 'tic' (see above). But I don't think this counts as actual inherent ADSR envelope.

Because of the way it went on the other chips, I expect that a little OPLL is a great synthesizer Smile

All the OPLs, did they really make soundchips that cant do a constant tone.

@ hit9918
You could play a tone with an OPLL HW voice, and only then use 'note linking', meaning, to change the frequency without triggering the note again. But some HW voices wil automatically 'fade out'. Others will keep playing.

@JohnHassink, is a "tic" like 60 times per second? That is the software ADSR that I mean.

@ hit9918:
In that case you need this command:

Okay only ever change frequency register and volume register.
And then only those instruments that not fade out can be used as base waveform in that business.
How many of those 15 do fade out?

FM sound doesn't have to be cast in stone.
You can change instruments while the note is playing and invent new sounds this way.
Microcabin, and (and IIRC Oracle tracker) used this trick.

ie. you don't have to be stuck at 15 hardware + 1 software instrument at all Smile

Think of it as FM instrument morphing!

in TFFM there is no software ADSR in the instrument macro's. This as it was not very useful. The 'range' was very low in combination with the HW ADSR. Tone changes in instrument macro's are working on FM. Volume slides are still available of course through effect commands.

oh, I read the letters "FM" in the manual, sounds like trilotracker plans to add OPL.
if OPL could do software ADSR, that would be the thing.
could be treated more like the other chips in the tracker.
