Yep, nothing technical indeed with the Yamaha YRW-801 ROM.
When talking about sound expansion hardware, it is very misleading to say that "MIDI is supported", if the cartridge doesn't have support for practically anything that's required by the MIDI specification. You could also say that Amiga is supported, because with the right software you can play ProTracker MODs.
What software is everyone using for playing back MIDI files with the OPL4? Meridian?

Are you counting me in? I asked confirmation about MSX-AUDIO ADPCM and MSX-AUDIO BIOS compatibility... (and got interested when sd_snatcher asked about replacing both YRM-801 and 1MB SRAM for a huge 4MB SRAM)
