I don't find it coherent to put columns for nothing just because it is on other pages.
I find it more coherent to put columns adapted to the information they have to put.

Many people don't read entirely a Wiki page. Repeating the MSX generation avoids misunderstandings and stupid questions.

Btw, I think you should explain somewhere the apparent problem to use MSX-AUDIO BASIC on Turbo R. Does this extension fail on Turbo R????

What’s the purpose of the alphabetical order? The browser has a search function, right?

My concern is the duplicated content going out of sync when someone makes a correction to one page but not the others. It seems best practice to try to avoid this when possible.

The alphabetical order generated by the Wiki is not perfect. Using the MRC search feature is not very efficient, it's better indeed to use the Advanced Search or the integrated 'Search in the current page' in Chrome or other browser, but in all cases, it requires from the user extra steps that are not needed when the Wiki provides a correct alphabetical order.

Besides, I always copy the missing general infos on both pages when there are 2 pages for some BASIC extensions. The only advantage of the page per purpose (as GDX prefers) is to give a general overview with short summary about the effect of the instructions in each purpose category.

That you do it is one thing, but I think it's a very valid concern that duplicated information will get out of sync, especially when someone is editing it in good faith and is not aware of duplicated information on another article. And that is very likely to happen in a Wiki, which is typically a community effort and not a show of an all-knowing single editor or small group.
So, I think it's good practice to avoid duplication as much as possible. Just use templates, references or whatever kind of mechanisms are at your disposal on a Wiki.
Having that said: I have great respect and admiration for you guys filling the Wiki with all that great info!

A solution could be to combine both the alphabetical order and the 'purpose' presentation on the same page. So no risk to be out of sync.

With such option, the above menu will include automatic links and each user needs only to click on the link leading to the section he prefers.

Personally, what I find most annoying is the overcrowded tables with useless columns and the duplication of pages for MSX computers and the addition of a category for some models. You always have to look for this category to find the characteristics. It was better before with a page for each model.

With the list of instructions classified by category, you can see what each instruction is for at a glance.

About the list of MSX-AUDIO BASIC instructions, I was just saying that the version by category (which is also in alphabetical order) was sufficient to avoid duplicated information.

mars2000you, Why don't you want to put the SYNTHE instruction?

It is listed in the Datapack.

Because it just launches a firmware that does not use MSX-AUDIO BASIC.

The same for the upgraded Toshiba and Philips modules for the CALL SYN and CALL MUSICBOX instructions.

It is in the Datapack, but the launched application has nothing to do with MSX-AUDIO BASIC. Two different things in the same cartridge!

The MSX-Audio says that the maker can put its own firmware and it must be launched by CALL SYNTHE. So this is an MSX-AUDIO BASIC instructions.
