Many game programmers made mistakes with handling MSX slot layouts. When a game runs in one machine model and not in another, it's almost always due to bugs in the handling of slots. I've fixed a few of those myself.

How can msx2cas be changed to handle this issue of slots??

I bought a cassette cable and tried to load some cas files too on my fs-a1 but had 0% success rate with msx2cas :-( any suggestion on cas files that should work? Or other applications I can try? Maybe with the pc instead of smartphone/tablet?

volume setting could be an issue. when I load waves from my player it needs a hard volume. some player do not deliver this volume.

But what *is* MSX2CAS? EDIT: oh, this: https://www.msx2cas.com/

Volume might be wrong if the MSX doesn't pick up anything. What do you type to load? What do you do on the app? Which CAS files are you trying?

Newer smartphones haver a limit to the volume and need an amplifier added. For the PC you could use CAS2WAV (make sure you get the MSX version because there are several CAS2WAVs out there) and play the WAV files. I use CASDuino and TZXDuino to play CAS or TSX files but then I'm one of the co-creators.

I installed an app called volume booster goo and can tell you the volume is there, not sure why it does not work. And it's the same with Zx spectrum or MSX :-(

If it's not working on the Spectrum and the MSX then volume booster is not enough for them to "hear". It is very common for modern phones not to have the output required.

Maybe, but I tried to plug some headphones and the volume with the booster seems very very loud. With the Zx spectrum I had some succes in the past using a software called tzx player but on my new laptop does not work anymore unfortunately., Probably the old laptop had a better volume, not sure.

I tried my mobile but couldn't play anything. It says "Found:filename" then sometimes the correct filename appears and sometimes some letters in it are wrong which indicate that MSX cannot hear properly.
Now I want to try something different. If the problem is in a low volume (which is the maximum of the mobile) I'll try connecting the sound cable in a music player (which have higher sound than mobile as I guess) then connect the mobile via Bluetooth to the music player, and play the cas2wav on some of the Cas games and see if any game would play keeping in mind changing the volume as required until I get the right sound volume. Then I'll tell you the results of my testing.
I hope it plays or then I'll have to search for a mini cassette player or another old mobile which can play wav files.
