HELP
can you read your CF from pc ?
i screwed once a CF , and realized that my pc was able to read only the last partition.
i search nights and nights a way to deal with many partition in a cf card with pc (it
works with mac , but i just have 'normal' pc at home )
So what i did :
i saved data of the partition
removed last partition ( this is possible )
then i could read the partition behind , save data , and do the same for my last partition...
This is good reason for having 2 partition one small fat12 to boot and a huge fat 16 after
that can be saved on PC easily ...
Nope,
Cant read the card in the PC, cant read it in the CF ATA-IDE interface... card seems to be dead..
crap crap megacrap..
Don't worry if command2.com is not working. Just boot in basic and copy this file again from floppy to CF.
I could never read my CF on my PC so don't worry, it is not totally damaged. Just try to copy files by using Basic commands.
You can try to do a FILES"A:" or even other partitions to see if everything is there.
eh..
The card is not recognized anymore by the ATA-IDE interface, i have no access at all to whatever partition there was..
what does the pc says it really dont see it also ?
If not even IDE can read your CF when booting then it seems to be damaged forever.
But it is not related to ZAPP, that's for sure.
If at boot time it appears then you could still access to it through IDEFDISK to check if something is bad at lowlevel by monitoring the headers of the CF.
IDEFDISK only reports that the IDE - interface rom is not loaded (which is the case when it doesn't recognize any CF cards..)
sigh... i think (know) something went wrong somewhere...
I do have some backup somewhere , but this virus really did some damage here
Are you sure about it? Could it be that your IDE should be reflashed? That message does not seem to me that the CF is missing but IDE interface is not well recognized.
I could be wrong, maybe someone could test it for you. Else I could do some tests in my IDE interface during next weekend.
Have you tried to execute IDEFDISK from a disk with DOS2?
