about CONTRA 3 Alien rebels used a kind of extra sound chip on SNES however i dont kow if konami also used a sound chip in castlevania 3 on nes

Contra 3 for SNES does not have an extra sound chip. Why should it? The SPC-700 was capable enough at the time. At least until Konami made Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius - which iirc does have extra hardware to handle all the speech.

Not sure about Castlevania 3 tho - probably not.

The Konami Keyboard master & prototype SoftCards came from Konami's retired PR manager, Dennis Hemmings, in a massive job lot I purchased off him (along with STT) last year somr time.
