The PX7 needs a TMS9129NL according to the service manual.
Have you already opened and checked the ID on the vdp IC?
sorry! my error!!
If you have UK PX7 machines, you can't use the NTSC laserdisc (including games) with it, AFAIK.
I know, Luther de Gale, ex Konami UK did have a complete PX7 system complete with "bodysonic" chair. When I was in touch with Dennis Hemmings he spoke with Luther who had sold it a few years previously. That would have been a lovely MSX system to get my hands on!! I wondser if there where any games that where beta versions he had?
Is that the system that was presented in MSX Computing? (One of the first issues...)
I think it was in a copy of What MSX. All good fun Multimedia MSX 10 years before any PC gear
Well, I have an MSX Computing with such an article Hmm, issue 7 is about PX-7, but it doesn't contain the photo which I mean (with the Astron Belt backgrounds and such).
If someone has a spare PX7, I'm looking for that
Got this email "The 9128 is same and software compatible with the 9129, the only difference is 9128 is NTSC output, and 9129 is PAL output. Now the most monitor is Multi-System, so it will ok for display, I tested it works. "
That wont be ok on a PX7? or will it? with a modern TV set ? who knows? maybe I shall try one and see what happens?

The ICs are indeed software compatible but not hardware pin-compatible. And most certainly in a PAL video computer it will not work.
