For the Dutchies here: https://tweakers.net/geek/123907/kickstarter-campagne-voor-z...
And a nice Youtube movie about the thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOl9zJDLgvs

That would be a kickstarter I'd happily invest in... A Turbo-R in a brand new case. Preferably with stuff like SCC, MSX-Audio/Music/OPL4 etc... integrated. MSX cartridgeslots, MSX Joystick connectors, but also HDMI/USB and stuff.

No reason you couldn't fund this one... The ZX Spectrum Next should be a fairly suitable platform to run an MSX softcore on (and no doubt people will be working on that as soon as boards go out to users).

Btw already funded! Smile2

Maybe Vrobit is close to what you want.

Well, besides it's already funded, I am not interest in a ZX Spectrum and there is no guarantee there will be an MSX softcore on it and how compatible this would be and what would be supported. That's like a 200 euro gamble which I am not gonna make.

This looks quite promissing, except for the ugly enclosure. But the specs are pretty good! Would be nice to see some more (English) information regarding the exact specs, price, availability, etc...

Why is the VRoBIT not mentioned as a newspost or something here? Looks very interesting if this is for real.

Not bad. I wonder what the final model will look like. I'll make a news-submit...

There's some info in english, but not all I think.

Some videos on YouTube too.

AFAIK it will probably come without integrated keyboard for not to make it too expensive. Don't know the status oficina the project right now, but sure it will be shown in next meetings in Spain.

I didn't think it was not announced here, there's some threads in Spanish forum.

LOL... I wouldn't mind though Smile I prefer the new Speccy approach over the Vrobit though. Everything in FPGA, like the OCM, but with better specs then the OCM had... And that in a nice black chassis with integrated keyboard. I'd happily spend 300 euro's on that.

If you're referring to the Spectrum Next, the 1chipMSX has better specs for the most part:

  • Comparable size (if not bigger) FPGA.
  • More RAM
  • 2 cartridge ports vs. 1
  • 2 joystick ports vs. 1
  • 2 USB ports
  • Reasonably mature firmware with lots of MSX extensions included

What it lacks is DVI or HDMI output. And firmware support for the USB ports.

And while that Speccy keyboard looks mighty good, not having a built-in keyboard has some advantages too.
