That's it. Tell us the name of that ugly, unimpressive and obscure game that in spite of all its flaws, you still like (and tell us why). Smile

Mine is "Zaider Battle of Peguss". Control your ship as in a normal shmup and fight on floor like Commando. Enter buildings in search for friends and weapons. A game full of nice concepts that is severely impaired due to bad graphics and only 32 Kbytes.

I really like Soul of a Robot. Is a really strange platform adventure by codemasters starring a robot. Although the game is not very fancy I played it A LOT of times.

'Eindeloos', I used to be impressed by its vast map and use of colours. It was the 1st MSX2 game I played, maybe that counts too. I don't still like it though, in fact I think it sucks Tongue

Jake in the Caves. It has great music though.

I really liked 'Viking' of the MSXdev'05 contest. I wouldn't want to call the game 'ugly', but it isn't exactly a technical marvel either. Regardless though, it was one of the first MSX1 games in years that managed to attract my attention for more than 3 minutes. In fact, I think I played it all day! ^_^

Do I see a new megapoll here? "The most ugly and obscure game that was yet still fun to play" ^_^

Why bother? Some wanker is just going to submit Nemesis/Gradius which will then of course proceed to win that "most ugly and obscure" title... :/

WHOW, we share the same enthousiasm 'bout this game. I loved it. Maybe b'coz I typed it from MCM where it was listed Wink
The game was written by some dude who's name I forgot (martin something?). That person wrote several good pieces of software, amongs others a great screen 1 tile editor!

Jake in the cave was one of them other pieces. First listing game that came with machinecode driven music replayer!
