Hey Again,

Just a shout out for BASIC Listings ! I'm looking for taking my next step in programming BASIC having typed in and debugged SPACEMAN. I'm now looking for something else that will teach me more and maybe be fun. I am hoping you can recommend or provide the Basic Listing. I have looked in F.H. and there's quite a lot there but i have no idea what half of it is and want to choose something that's worth my time. Neither too short nor too long and will have some 'routines' that i haven't seen before nor be too difficult for me to understand. Not hard as Ive only typed in one program so far ! Your suggestions please ! Big smile

And if people have a collection of BASIC listings: Please feel free to mail them to me as well for addition to my BASIC archive.

Some sort of basic index would be in order for your archive. Type of game for instance eg Platformer, space invader etc and maybe a short description of the game or application and function !

Don't want to type in a 'game' to find its a fractal generator for instance. I love fractal generators btw Big smile Mandbrot Set FTW !

Well, the C.U.C. section is quite simple: You can check the Wiki here on msx.org. They are the listings from those magazines. And making another index would be quite confusing for those entries.
For the other directories, you do have a point. But since the universe has decided there are only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week I don't plan on doing something like that (myself).

Why not check out MSX-BASIC contests ?
https://www.msxblog.es/nuestros-concursos/
There are plenty of entries with source code.

In https://msxbasic.blogspot.com/ there are many programs that came with a lot of magazines. It is a good archive. There is an explanation of the game / program and you can download it. There is also a classification. The only problem is that it is in Spanish (in case that you don't know the language)

To translate you can always go to Google translator and paste the link you want translated
https://translate.google.com/?sl=auto&tl=en&op=websites

CAS format can contain both basic and binary files. On your laptop you can use a tool like
https://github.com/apoloval/mcp
to extract individual files

You can always load files from a CAS file into MSX emulator or even to a real MSX using your Android phone with an app MSX2CAS (supports other formats too). Just plug the lead that would go into a cassette player into headphone jack of your phone.
