I noticed that there are 2 versions of Athletic Land, a normal and a 'I love' version. Is this known? And does anyone know what the 4th entry in the 'I love' series is?

Well, I didn't know. How cool! Smile
I only knew about Cabbage Patch Kids, and just found out like 10 years ago.

Which other Konamis are in this "I Love" series that you know of?

Hi there!

I am pretty sure that those Athletic land games are the same game, but different editions of the box, manual and label.

I love series;
1=Antarctica adventure
2=athletic land
3=monkey
4=?
5=comic bakery

It can be just a re-print.

Like they do with PSX & PS2 (now PS3) games.

Yes, I think you are right. I think they picked 5 kidies games for a I love marketing campaign.

IIRC I've read a Japanese interview once that mentioned the "I love..." series. From what I remember it was concept for games. Take a real life activity and turn it in a game: like baking + konami magic = comic bakery. Same goes for the hyper olympics games and so on... I could be mistaken though, been a long time...

Never knew it was on the packages as well.

Thanks for the info! I'm still looking for No. 4 of the series...and I haven't found it yet! Everyone...check your Konami cartridges ;-)

Maybe there is no No. 4 as the Japanese often skip that number because it brings bad luck or something ?
