There is new software up on the http://www.cx5m.net website by the way. I scanned and posted the YRM303 MIDI Macro & Monitor manual and...

...A very rare YRM 306 cartridge rom, it is a CX5M editor cartridge for the DX7II/FD. I have the II/FD and connected it to the CX5M. I can say it really addresses the extra features of the DX7-II. Happy that Chris Conkie alowed me to dump it for sharing!

My dad has a program on cassette called Bit2 multitimbral that is specially for the SFG-05. He manages to get it loaded but it desperately needs saving to something. He has made a wav recording of it and that sometimes loads but is a bit dodgy. Every cassette player/recorder my dad has now is stereo only and he is worried the fact that it is not mono is the reason he is having trouble. What is the best way of recording the program to something else?

STereo/mono is not an issue. You should be able to record it to wav indeed (you could downmix it to mono if you like) and replay it for the MSX to load. Can you share the wav file, please?

https://mega.nz/#!HV1yQSpR!3TZ44WykhkNS4curVPaQYpy2W2AFt3sKkCtBgfSUZQA here is the wav file for Bit2 Multitimbral. If you can convert it to disk or anything easier to run that would be great ;)

Can you get it working? I can't through msx2cas. Just says 'skip bit2'.

You need to enter RUN"CAS:"

It works very good on blueMSX with MSX1 machines (if SFG module is present of course !) ; boot while pressing SHIFT to de-activate both drives in the generic machines (*)

On the main screen (after the intros), press H key to get the HELP screen

With MSX2 and 2+, it seems that there's a memory problem (and the 'universal' poke does not help)

(*) To use CAS files with specific machines including the SFG module (like the Yamaha CX5M) in blueMSX, you need first to edit the Machine in the Machine Editor to apply the CAS patch on the BIOS rom.

i'm not really familiar with Bluemsx but I can't get it working. It just goes back to basic or shows an error after the second load screen. Sad

The error appears only when you use a MSX2 or 2+ machine (by default, blueMSX launches an European MSX2).

So, you need to select a MSX(1) machine in Options/Emulation or in Tools/Machine Editor.

If you select a generic machine, they don't have the SFG module, you need to insert it in cartridge slot 1 or 2.
