@Meits: welcome to the Turbo-R club Now you also could test if your slotexpander works with it as you had problems with the Panasonic MSX2+ lately? Have fun with it, it's a nice machine. I also prefer the ST above GT. I like the "gold" color letters and control panel of it
And ofcourse the RCA sound output is nice... It also seems the ST keeps it's clockchip settings when holding the ESC key. With GT all settings of the clockchip are erased. Some people even claim it has better video quality, but I never compared it.
I just found out that the pause button on the turbo R is not the same as the one on my 2+... On the 2+ it just pauses all the time, but on turbo R it won't pause in Xak 2...
A turbo R feature
@Retrofan... Can't check any slotexpander issue as of now since one of them is on a long term lend out to a fellow Darky, but I do know that yet another Darky with a turbo R has some PSU strength issues as well, so I doubt the PSU of a turbo R is any stronger than a pana 2+...
There's some workarounds for the RCA output if you have a GT. You can use the TV output or even use an RGB cable with an RCA output in it, but I rather keer it with an output onboard, so ST is my thing...
To my horror I checked the translation of Illusion City and got stuck before the intro started with the screen shouting at me that I need at least 512kB... w00t... But no worries... My 1MB is being returned to me within now and an hour... Issue solved...
One thing I'd like to know from someone who actually did it (not someone who heard about it): How to eject a spacebar from such a keyboard? Got a metal pin to replace and I fear the thought of opening the actual keyboard and have all the spring coils dance around in the living room and after setting them back in place always having one (or more in most cases) falling...
@Meits: I do have two slotexpanders and have no PSU issues on FS-A1ST, so mine is probably strong enough. It's not the original PSU BTW, but 230V. And if I still need extra power, I do have an external PSU for my MK slotexpander Maybe Repair-Bas can help you with a stronger PSU for your 2+/turbo R...
Lucky you, I'm super yealous!
Don't worry... They pop up once in a while... But when they do, It's just the price that swings from descent to crazy... Got to pick the one you think is worth the price asked for it... I'm quite happy with this machine since some people even ask about the same price for a Philips VG 8010 on e-bay
That's not a VG 8010 but a VG 8000, which is quite rare (and only has 16kB of RAM).
