Hello everyone, I'm Italian, I am using a translator
my configuration
MSX VG8020, disk drive Sony HBD-50 360KB
Tape2cas the program is not compatible with the disk drive Sony HDB-50 does not save the file in the right way cas dumpato, see the PC

the CAS file, but you can not extract the files cas, from access error, I also used the emulator openMSX and does the same

What, however, with another disk drive emulation under openMSX, no problem, the file saves it in the right way, how to resolve the problem, on this disk drive Sony HDB-50? seems not to be compatible with the program tape2cas, here is the floppy

il file CAS, ma non è possibile estrarre il file cas, da errore di accesso, ho anche usato l'emulatore OpenMSX e fa la stessa

To extract the files from a CAS file, there's a tool : MSX Taper , but it's not perfect for ASCII BASIC files (wrong characters sometimes added when extracting the file)

http://www.retrocomputacion.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_vie...

For the BASIC files, it's better to load them from the CAS file in the MSX memory, then to save them on a DSK file in drive A.

Hello. I don't understand you clearly, Giuseppe Di Lillo, about problem you have. I have worked in your boot.dsk file, on Bluemsx emulator. I extracted C16MSX08.CAS file from boot.dsk , stored on PC hard disk. I put this CAS file as cassette image on Bluemsx. Then I type Run"cas: , later a load screen appears showing "Caricamento in corso , Attendere prego". But loadiong stops appearing a "Devide I/O error in 10" error message. Is this the problem you have ?

Thank you

Maybe the problem is that there are many empty spaces in the binary file SCR, probably the file has not been dumped correctly and/or files with custom format have not been dumped, that's why this error message is displayed, especially if the binary needs to load custom files.

PC file WHICH not extraction, this would do
I discovered that if I rename the file DSK in CAS emulator reads the contents of the cas!

Wow ! That's amazing ! And no more the error message, but the intro screen with the menu. Now the problem is to run the games (or applications). That's the real problem ! Extract the games and create different CAS or DSK files for each game, that's the way to follow !

Btw, with blueMSX, you can skip the menu and directly run a game by positioning the tape on the ASCII BASIC file that loads other files of the game. Eventually use the 'universal' poke if the loading of the game fails. Note that on these Italian tapes, there are probably dump errors and somes games can't be loaded and runned.

But for me, it's always better to have only one game on a CAS or DSK file, that's why I've suggested to extract all files and create different CAS or DSK files.

not a problem to dump, and the file cas, that the model disk drive Sony HDB-50 does not save it in the right way, the file is there, but it's like there was, not a root

Can you try more recent version of TAPE2CAS ? If this still does not work, you should contact Martos.
