I think the cart with 512k will be the way to go when funds allow.
Hopefully there are some MSX2 cassette games I might be able to play in the meantime!
Sadly waiting for a better exchange rate probably isn't an option. Suspect things will get worse before they get better. Gone are the days of getting a good deal on the 1541 Ultimate for the C64 due to a very favourable exchange rate. Ah well!
I'm down in Hampshire so not close to Leicester. But very interested to hear how you get on with it. Sadly the two carts with the MSX appear to be unboxed but will at least be two interesting games to look at.
First thing is to get it up and running and I guess to check over the internal battery in case it leaked. Purchased an Archimedes with an internal battery that had destroyed a section of the main board. :-(

Official ones: hardly!
The ones I can quickly find:
- The Radarsoft games
- Chopper II
- Goody
- Red Lights of Amsterdam
- The Chess Game MSX2
- Bank Buster
The cost in UK £'s when i placed my order £150.61 GBP = €165.00 EUR
£150. Thanks for the cost. Might have to go for plan B for a couple of months first. Hopefully there might be some disk games that have been hacked for tape to keep me going in the meatime.
Did some more research and went for this for £70. Seems to do what I will need.

512k memory expansion and SD card access should do the trick.

It does miss the SCC sound device, having said that, the cartridges you have do have that feature. You can disable the cartridge, however, it reduces it value.

Not sure what you mean. Presumably this is for games that use an extra sound chip in the cart. Are you suggesting the two games coming with the cart could be used to give the extra sound on some cracked games?
So cover over pin 25 and you get the functionality? Sounds like it would be worth a go.
In an ideal world I would have gone for the other cart, but as I'm not a hardcore MSX user and most of the use will be for the channel, I have to be practical. If there's a good response to the coverage, I'll upgrade when budget allows.

I am not sure how you would cover just pin 25, but if that if the pin in question, then yes.Nail varnish might be usable, but do not use things like sellotape, you might damage the cartridge slot on your MSX! Manual's first suggestion of inserting the cartridge when you machine has beeped would work.
The MegaSCC/SD cartridge arrived today. It is presented in a nice package, and is a little heavier than most cartridges i have owned. Now to find a TV or monitor i can connect my MSX2 on
Lovely to 'play' cartridge games on my MSX2. Thank you!
