I'm sure that info is in one of the issues of games machine. I do remember that the msx machine was the only machine stolen, the office had everything from c64, spectrum, Atari st, Amiga etc . The thieves must have had good tastes!
JVC imported a few hundred MSX2 machines into the UK. Some dealers had stock of Sony & Philips MSX2 machines. I have a Sony MSX2, used to have a turboR, but had to sell it because I came on hard times. Having said that there is very little English language MSX2+ or TurboR software. eBay sometimes has some MSX2 machines, but they need importing from the EU. *IF* you do buy an MSX2 I would recommend the Carnivore 2 or MegaFlash SCC+SD cartridge. I tried both of them today on a Toshiba HX10, neither would boot correctly

Are you sure about that? Victor (aka JVC) made three MSX2 systems, the HC-80, HC-90 and HC-95. All of them Japanese models. No "western" models seem to exist. So any 'JVC' MSX2 systems would either have been Japanese Victor systems or something else entirely.
Yes, the HC95 and HC80 are featured in the JVC price list from 1985/6. Their UK MSX man Peter Glas introduced them to the UK market, they where expensive and overpriced at the time. The June/July 1986 edition of MSX also features an article about the release.
Is this price list online somewhere, as a scan? I would like to see it. Also which June/July 1986 edition are you talking about? Is that "games machine"?
The jvc article and prices are in the june/July msx computing magazine pg5. Also in may 1988 there was an outlet in Coventry selling a lot of Philips msx stuff.the nms8280 package was £977.50. I have the price list if you want it.
The list was a "Trade Price" list, so no it is not available. I worked for a JVC dealer at that time, the dealer was offered HC7's at a good price, they would have sold them for £79.99, but had to purchase 20+
@djh1697: do you know by any chance if this MSX1 computer has ever been released, especially in the UK : https://www.msx.org/wiki/Hitachi_MB-H80 ?
It was announced in a few magazines, but the only one picture available on the net is very small and probably extracted from one of these magazines. I've never seen this machine on eBay, so I have doubts about its release.
I do not recall Hitachi releasing any MSX computers in the UK
I can't even recall any Hitachi MSX ever getting released in Europe at all... Did I miss something?
