So basically and considering all the work already done in OpenMSX, OpenMSX is going to be always several steps ahead of VR emulation.
Okay, to be honest i did not really look into the VR system. It looks like as a very nice device and seems like al lot of work was done to come so far like this. Only thing i do not understand, why did they not use openMSX and changed the license model? As that would give you just the best emulator? The VR system is a linux based system not? Like a PC?
Because if they use OpenMSX code they have to release the source code to the public, which they do not want to do. Simple as that.
Also. I think the MSX ROM's are included with the MSX-VR.
I don't think that the OpenMSX license would accept that.
MSXVR don't use OpenMSX but comes with C-Bios. You have to add BIOS for different machines by yourself.
It is a pity that they do not want to release their code under a license compatible with GPL v2. MSXVR and openMSX would both have benefited a lot. Too bad.
Is MSXVR Android-based?

It may change in the future. I can imagine that they did not want to overcomplicate the release even more by having every developer look over their software, without having the hardware out. If the two batches are delivered maybe they will consider open sourcing.

Both MSXVR and Android use linux kernel as their base, but MSXVR does not use Android.
There is a lot of stuff happening on Guilded but it is all in Spanish. Really want to read the posts but you have to translate every single post. Very frustrating.
Yes, that's not a foreign thing they are doing there. Well, we started that MSXVR thread in our forum to share international information.
I was getting a bit dissapointed using my MSXVR and lost interesst the last days. Sorry to say that. I know alot of people can't wait to get their hands on this machine.
Meanwhile I returned to my Omega as my daily machine.
What did you get disappointed about?
