Hi!, I came across a Youtube clip the other week about the Omega MSX2 computer, and it got me thinking about my MSX gear and wondering what I still Had.
My first computer was a Sony HB-75AS, it came with one joystick and 3 cartridge games, and retailed for $499aud
This was a start of a journey for the next several years, the Sony MSX1 was relegated to second choice after I imported a second hand Sony HB-700D and books and accessories from a guy in the Netherlands, I cannot remember what it all cost me now, but wasn't cheap, it was all packed into a tea chest box.
When MSX2+ was released, I purchased one direct from Japan, I also purchased a hand held scanner, but all of the instructions were in Japanese, and I never did work out how to use it.
For a period of time I and a couple of younger friends took over and produced a newsletter, SVI and MSX Australasian User Group, I even formed a business with another friend to sell Sony MSX Computers and Peripherals.
So, I went out to my garage, searched through some boxes, and pulled out what I could find.
I currently have:
Toshiba HX-10AA - Good Condition & Working
Spectravideo 738 Express with Carry Bag, Original MS-Dos & CP/M Disks and Manuals - Still Working
Sony HB-700D that I purchased from the Netherlands - need to get a new clock battery for this, cleaned it up today and once I get a replacement battery, I will test it.
Add-Ons

A Generic Joystick with a Red Knob and 2 Red Buttons - Don't remember the brand of this one, but was very common, and easy to replace the limit switches in when they failed.

Well that's all of the original stuff I have found to date.
I have heaps of back up disks to check and see what still works, these are MSX, MSX2 MSX 2+ Games, Demos, Utility Software etc.
I see that Print Lab, Sony Quicknotes and I presume Intelligence Software Thinkman are in the undumped list, I have not touched my MSX in 25 years, so if they are wanted, and someone can run me through the procedure on how to, I am happy to do so.
Just have to get the battery for the HB-700D and get the old girl fired up.
Well, that's some info about me.
Cheers All..
