Introduction

Clubguide Picturedisk was a bi-monthly disk magazine filled with demos, promos and news from the MSX demo scene. Its audience was international though most of its contents was made by Dutch groups and individuals.

Clubguide Picturedisk 05 was released in October 1990 by Genic. As the previous editions, the general design has been conceived by the Redsoft team, this time with help from Dynamic Duo, Genic, Station Group and XelaSoft members.

Screen 5 is used in almost all parts of this diskmagazine. Four parts use a RAM version of the runtime compiler X-BASIC (file SELECTOR.BIN with CALL STATI ON and CALL STATI ON2 as replacements for CALL TURBO ON and CALL TURBO OFF).

This diskmagazine was also sold as MCM Public Domain disk B31.

The interface and all parts of this demodisk are for MSX2 and higher.

Frequency Selector

Cp05a.png

For the first time in the Genic history, a general frequency selector screen with PSG music appears after the Genic logo. It has been conceived here by the Station Group.

You can go directly to the menu by pressing the Q key on the frequency selector screen.

Six options in this menu in screen 7 with MSX-MUSIC music. Several options don't allow to go back to the menu.

There are also 2 hidden options:

  • slotexpanders with switches
  • SCC cartridges modified with switch or converted to Megasram (aka ESE-RAM)
  • use an MSX emulator

Direct launching: COLOR,0,0:RUN"DD-MUSIC.LDR"

Cp05h.png

A demo made by the German Mi-Chi team with PSG music only in the second part, when picture and stars are moving. The text scroll is a little special, as you need to guess the vowels! The ending refers to what happens on Amiga computers when there's a big problem...

Direct launching is not possible as the original version (available on a compilation disk) has been modified to integrate the routines of this demo disk.
