Introduction

Demo disk released in September 1991 by the BCF team. Was also sold as MCM Public Domain disk B53.

This fifth Disk Station has support for MSX-MUSIC and MSX-AUDIO, but requires an MSX2 with at least 128kB memory mapper. When both sound chips are present, MSX-AUDIO is automatically selected.

Most parts use screen 5 and a RAM version of the runtime compiler X-BASIC (file BCFE.001 with CALL SPEED IN and CALL SPEED OUT as replacements for CALL TURBO ON and CALL TURBO OFF).

All parts of this demodisk come with original music in the FAC Soundtracker 1 format, written by Dennis Lodewijks or Joost Wijnen.

Note that the contribution of Ruud van de Moosdijk is limited to reviews in the Info part of the demo disk. He left BCF right before the release of Disk Station 5.

Content

Intro

Bcf5a.png

No BCF logo, but directly the option screen followed by a big BCF screen with entertaining music, giving the right impression that BCF comes with a better product than all the previous ones.

The second part of the intro is whitout surprise an illustration of the Summer season.

You can skip this intro by pressing the Q key on the options screen.

Menu

Bcf5c.png

A menu with 6 options, like on Disk Station 4, but you can notice that one of the demos is now replaced by a Music Player.

Snout Demo 5

Bcf5o.png
Bcf5p.png
Bcf5q.png

Fifth episode of the adventures of Snout the elephant, the BCF mascot, created by Sander Strootman.

As always, Snout has problems with a flower accidentally destroyed and a fake super-hero who can't fly! He decides then to go in holidays with his extra long caravan, which is partially destroyed when entering a tunnel. Arrived at the camping, he uses ruse to find there a place.

Satan Demo 2

Bcf5m.png
Bcf5n.png

A sequel to the Satan Demo, published on Disk Station 3. No more ripped music, but two original songs composed by Joost Wijnen, one on the intro with hell fire, one on the demo iself with a giant monster head.

While the first satanic demo was created by Sander Strootman, this sequel, subtitled Old Harry's Revenge, has been made by the BCF chief, Koert van Mensvoort with the help of Sander Strootman for typing the long scroll text.

Sigma Power Demo

Bcf5i.png
Bcf5j.png
Bcf5k.png

A demo created by Sander Strootman. Also here Joost Wijnen is the musical contributor.

The teasing intro with golden big characters is followed by a fast series of pictures or animations linked to the very active new beat / house musical scene.

Jarre In Concert

Bcf5f.png
Bcf5g.png
Bcf5h.png

This demo, inspired by the giants concerts of Jean-Michel Jarre in London and Houston, has been created by Sander Strootman and Dennis Lodewijks.

After a digitized picture of the artist in screen 8, you can enjoy a nice laser, light and sound show. The impressive laserharp is not forgotten! The musical part is a great medley of Jarre melodies, including Rendezvous and Oxygene.

Music Player

Bcf5d.png

For the first time, BCF includes a music replayer. It is mono, but you can choose between MSX-AUDIO and MSX-MUSIC.

All the musics used in the other parts of the Disk Station can be enjoyed here and an extra bonus song is also available.

For the details, see the Musical files section below.

BCF Info/News

This time, many news and the color feature is no more hidden. Besides, you can choose between 4 original background musics.

Note: STATIONE.110 is a special version of the FST.BIN 1.1 driver, written by Moonsoft for BCF

If you don't use the interface of this demodisk, FAC Soundtracker, Pro Tracker, Studio FM, MIDI Blaster or the FM Music interface, these musical files can be used on MSX1.

Important! You need to modify the names to use the correct extensions (MUS/SM1/SM2), it is also recommended to specify the name of the drumkit (without the extension) in the MUS file.

For more tips about usage of this musical format, check the FAC Music Disk 1 Wiki page.
