Introduction
Demo published in June 1989 by the FAC team. Also known as "Xylonite" demo.
All the coding, graphics ripping and music ripping was done by the Le Ti Organisation. The ripped graphics use screens 5, 7 and 8. The ripped music requires MSX-MUSIC and SCC. If you don't have a computer with internal or external MSX-MUSIC, you will hear PSG music in the parts with MSX-MUSIC.
There are a few interactive parts in this demo to make it a bit more enjoyable from today's point of view.
A cartridge with SCC/SCC+ soundchip or compatible is required to fully enjoy it. SCC Konami cartridges are usable but remember: Do not insert a cartridge with the MSX turned on!!!. However, safe options exist:
- slotexpanders with switches
- SCC cartridges modified with switch or converted to Megasram (aka ESE-RAM)
- use an MSX emulator
Content
Intro
This part is in screen 7 with SCC music. It announces directly that the demo is the sequel of the FAC Demo 1, as it is subtitled as "The ultimate anti-Commodore demo". It is also the first interactive part of the demo: press F1 to hear several different SCC musics.
Message
We stay in screen 7 for a message part, obviously inspired by the Compile Disc Stations (MSX-MUSIC and graphics). It uses CompileBGM BASIC and includes different 'arguments' to convince you to not buy a Commodore computer!
Fight in Space
This part is in screen 8 with SCC music. As for the intro, you can press F1 to hear other SCC musics.
Commodore's Nightmare
This PSG part uses 2 screens: screen 8 for your recruitment by Le TI Organisation and your mission against Commodore (another interactive part!), screen 5 after the successful completion of this mission.
On the Metal Gear screen, you can press CTRL+STOP when the message is entirely displayed and you will hear several different PSG musics.
Pana Amusement Collection
A promo for the FM-PAC, with a text intro in screen 7 and an interactive part in screen 5 using again CompileBGM BASIC. Press CTRL+STOP to hear several different FM musics.
Greatest Driver
We stay in screen 5 for this PSG part with text scroll, including the role of the FAC, the greetings and the sources of all ripped graphics and musics.
End
The final part is in screen 5 with MSX-MUSIC and CompileBGM BASIC. Press the spacebar for some animation!
