Introduction

John van Poelgeest (Poltergeist) was born on 4 februari 1970 in the Netherlands. He got his first computer on the age of 11, and got his first MSX2 computer in 1986. He founded First Class Software, and has created some demos and games for PTC Rotterdam. He competed twice in Micro Masters Holland, winning some prices in both competitions.

John was active as programmer and musician. While he started as a programmer, he became known in the MSX scene as musician for the Federation Against Commodore. Although not the best musician of the FAC (which was undeniably Erik Duijs) he wrote the most tunes for FAC Soundtracker 1.

After writing FAC demo 5 with Jeffrey Timmer, John left the FAC to continue with First Class Software. While being active with FCS, he followed in the footsteps of Hayo Rubingh to write articles for the dutch MSX Computer & Club Magazine (MCCM). He continued writing until the very last issue of MCCM. He was also active for the Quasar disks from MSX Club Gouda as a programmer.
